Our event will be held at the REI Flagship Store (222 Yale Ave N, Seattle). After you head up the stairs to the 2nd floor, you'll see signs and friendly volunteers directing you to our event room, located in the northwest corner. Parking is available at the REI Parking Lot (garage entrance on Yale Ave N). RTS will provide complimentary parking at REI for our guests.Our event will start at 5:00 pm with food, tastings, and our Silent Auction. Please arrive as soon as you can guarantee your chance to win your favorite Silent Auction items! The Silent Auction will close around 7:00 pm. Following the Silent Auction, we'll kick off our Live Program, consisting of our Live Auction, Sponsor Recognition, Volunteer of the Year of Award, Guest Speakers, and more! The event will end at approximately 8:45pm. Don't forget to shop at REI beforehand! :)
RTS is thrilled to partner with Seasoned in Seattle Catering this year. Seasoned in Seattle will be providing an assortment of excellent heavy appetizers. Menu items will include: Mushroom Popovers, Homemade Bruschetta Italia, Antipasto Baskets (with fresh marinated vegetables, assorted cheese & crackers, and Italian meats), Smoked Salmon, Grilled Thai Chicken Satays with tangy peanut dipping sauce, fresh Mozzarella skewers, and more! 1. Program Recipient: Debra In 2011, Deborah and Ricky applied to Rebuilding Together Seattle after Deborah was put on disability. In addition, Ricky started chemotherapy treatments, and Deborah and Ricky took legal custody of their two grandchildren. On Sept 30th, Deborah will share about her life experiences and the transformation that occurred for her and her family following her rebuilding day project in the Spring with the RTS Youth Board.
2. Program Recipient: Alice
In 2010, Alice, a disabled veteran living in South Seattle, applied to our programs to receive help at her home. On April 30, 2011, over 50 volunteers from Intellectual Ventures and Perkins Coie worked to restore her home. Alice will share a few words about the impact volunteers made on her life.
3. Volunteer Speaker: Lisa Miner (Perkins Coie)
Lisa Miner has been volunteering with Rebuilding Together Seattle for many years. In April, Lisa worked with volunteers from her firm to restore Alice's home (Program Recipient). Lisa will share about her experiences volunteering and why she supports the RTS mission.
