Announcing the results of the SRD Volunteer Giving Challenge 2013!

We are pleased to announce the Results of our 1st Annual Spring Rebuilding Day Volunteer Giving Challenge! Last Saturday, we asked over 1,000 volunteers to consider making a pledge to Rebuilding Together Seattle to support over 60 homeowners on our Safe at Home Program waiting list.  We had no idea how the challenge would turn out, but after our Area Coordinators called in their numbers on Saturday afternoon, we couldn't believe what were hearing!

THE NUMBERS
In short, the results of the challenge were overwhelming.  25% percent of volunteers pledged a donation to Rebuilding Together Seattle, with an average pledge of $80.00!  Because of the generous donations of our volunteers totaling $14,222, along with the RTS Board and Staff matching donations of $4,500, we estimate that we will be able to help 75 homeowners with the necessary repairs they need to stay safe and warm through the winter with our Safe at Home Program.

OUR SPONSOR/VOLUNTEER GROUP CHALLENGE!
Our first challenge was the Sponsor challenge.  We told our Sponsors that the group with the highest percentage of volunteer participation would receive a FREE ice cream party that afternoon.  Assumption Catholic Church blew everyone out of the water with 100% volunteer participation AND an average donation of over $100.00!  Holy smokes!  Finishing in 2nd place was Gonzaga University, who had over 90% participation.  3rd place went to the RTS Young Professionals Society (YPS) with over 70% participation.

Our winning group, with 100% participation, was Assumption Parish!

Our 2nd place group, with 91% Participation, was Gonzaga University

Our 3rd place group, with 72% participation, was the RTS Young Professionals Society!

THE ICE CREAM PARTIES!

As our winning group, Assumption Catholic Church, was rewarded with an ice cream party on Saturday afternoon from Sweet Wheels gourmet sandwiches! Since we had ordered extra ice cream, we were also able to bring the ice cream to the Gonzaga site and the RTS Young Professionals Society site to share.  Check out these photos of the volunteers receiving their sandwiches:
